traditional Hatha Yoga classes led by 28-year Yogi, Wahneta Trotter

Why practice Hatha yoga?

Traditional Hatha Yoga is a holistic yogic path, including moral disciplines, asanas and Pranayama (breath control), and meditation.

Hatha represents the wholesome conjunction of opposing energies: hot and cold, fire and water, male and female, positive and negative, lunar and solar and a system to bring them back into balance.

Asanas teach poise, balance & strength and are practiced to improve the body's physical health and clear the mind in preparation for meditation. Informed integration of asana, breath techniques and inner-contemplation/observation elevate the practice and practitioner alike. Personal practice, Sadhana develops Tejas: higher intelligence, discernment and inner-illumination.

Wahneta has been practicing yoga for the better part of the last 28 years. As a long time practitioner and teacher of Yoga, Wahneta brings the unique perspective of life experience, yogic and ayurvedic wisdom to each individual session- Yoga as it once was and needs to be again
